Abstract
Kegiatan magang di instansi pemerintahan seperti BPSDMP Kominfo Surabaya memerlukan sistem presensi yang akurat dan efisien guna mendukung proses monitoring kehadiran peserta magang secara terstruktur. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sistem presensi magang berbasis web menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP 8 dengan menerapkan metode Waterfall. Metode Waterfall dipilih karena pendekatan bertahapnya yang sistematis dan cocok digunakan dalam pengembangan sistem dengan kebutuhan yang telah didefinisikan dengan jelas sejak awal. Dalam penelitian ini, analisis kebutuhan dilakukan melalui wawancara dan observasi langsung terhadap staf pembimbing dan peserta magang. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sistem presensi sebelumnya masih bersifat manual dan kurang efisien, sehingga dibutuhkan aplikasi yang dapat mencatat kehadiran secara digital, mencatat waktu, lokasi (geolokasi), serta dokumentasi berupa foto secara otomatis. Setelah tahap analisis, dilakukan perancangan sistem yang mencakup desain antarmuka pengguna, struktur database (tabel users dan absensi), serta alur login dan pengambilan data absensi secara real-time. Sistem ini kemudian diimplementasikan menggunakan teknologi PHP 8, HTML, CSS, dan JavaScript, serta didukung oleh database MySQL. Pengujian dilakukan secara menyeluruh untuk memastikan sistem dapat berjalan sesuai fungsi, baik dari sisi validasi login, pengambilan lokasi pengguna, penyimpanan data kehadiran, hingga proses laporan absensi berdasarkan filter tanggal dan pengguna. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem dapat bekerja dengan baik dan membantu proses dokumentasi presensi secara efisien. Aplikasi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif bagi pengelola magang di BPSDMP Kominfo Surabaya dalam memonitor kehadiran peserta secara digital, serta meningkatkan akurasi dan transparansi dalam pencatatan kehadiran. Penelitian ini juga berkontribusi dalam pengembangan aplikasi berbasis web di lingkungan instansi pemerintah.

Internship activities in government agencies such as BPSDMP Kominfo Surabaya require an accurate and efficient attendance system to support the process of monitoring the attendance of interns in a structured manner. This thesis aims to design and build a web-based internship attendance system using the PHP 8 programming language by implementing the Waterfall method. The Waterfall method was chosen because of its systematic, step-by-step approach and is suitable for use in developing systems with needs that have been clearly defined from the start. In this study, needs analysis was carried out through interviews and direct observation of supervisors and interns. The results of the analysis showed that the previous attendance system was still manual and inefficient, so an application was needed that could record attendance digitally, record time, location (geolocation), and documentation in the form of photos automatically. After the analysis stage, a system design was carried out which included the design of the user interface, database structure (users and attendance tables), as well as the login flow and real time attendance data retrieval. This system was then implemented using PHP 8, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technology, and supported by a MySQL database. Testing was carried out thoroughly to ensure that the system can run according to its function, both in terms of login validation, user location retrieval, attendance data storage, to the absence report process based on date and user filters. The test results showed that the system can work well and help the attendance documentation process efficiently. This application is expected to be an effective solution for internship managers at BPSDMP Kominfo Surabaya in monitoring participant attendance digitally, as well as increasing accuracy and transparency in recording attendance. This research also contributes to the development of web-based applications in government agencies.
