Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran menggunakan mind mapping pada materi reading narrative text dan presepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan mind mapping. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan juli 2023 di kelas VIII-A SMP Al-Muayyad Wates Kedensari Tanggulangin
dan berjumlah 8 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan wawancara. Peneliti menggunakan teknik observasi untuk memperoleh data pada saat proses pembelajaran mind mapping pada materi reading narrative text dalam kelas. Siswa memberikan respon yang positif pada penggunaan mind mapping di kelas. Sedangkan dari hasil wawancara menunjukan sebagian besar siswa beranggapan bahwa penggunaan mind mapping dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi guru dan siswa. Karena dengan menggunakan mind mapping siswa merasa tertarik untuk belajar, selain itu siswa juga lebih mudah memahami materi ketika menggunakan mind mapping.

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process using mind mapping in reading narrative text and students’ perception of the implementation mind mapping. The data collection was carried out in July 2023 in class VIII-A AlMuayyad junior high school in Wates Kedensari Tanggulangin with 8 students. This study used descriptive qualitative. The instruments used in this study were observation and interviews. The researcher used observation technique to gain the data of learning process mind mapping in reading narrative text in the classroom. The students give a positive response from the use of mind mapping in class. The
results of interviews with students shows most students think that use mind mapping can have positive impact on teacher and student, because by using mind mapping students feel interested in learning besides that students also understand the material more easily when they use mind mapping.
