Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Project-Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap pemahaman konsep geometri peserta didik kelas 5 SDN Kedensari 1. Pemahaman konsep geometri sangat penting bagi siswa sekolah dasar karena menjadi dasar bagi kemampuan berpikir logis dan spasial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental berupa one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 18 peserta didik kelas 5 yang diberikan perlakuan berupa pembelajaran menggunakan model PjBL dengan materi bangun ruang (kubus dan balok). Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD), modul ajar, dan soal pre-test serta post-test yang telah divalidasi melalui uji validitas isi oleh ahli. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS versi 25. Hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). Selain itu, hasil perhitungan N-Gain menunjukkan skor rata-rata sebesar 0,536 yang termasuk dalam kategori peningkatan sedang. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PjBL dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep geometri siswa secara efektif. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif, kreatif, dan memahami konsep geometri secara kontekstual melalui keterlibatan langsung dalam proyek pembuatan model bangun ruang. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar guru menggunakan model PjBL sebagai alternatif pembelajaran, khususnya pada materi yang membutuhkan pemahaman konkret seperti geometri. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk melibatkan kelompok kontrol agar perbandingan hasil dapat lebih kuat dan komprehensif.

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving fifth-grade students’ understanding of geometric concepts at SDN Kedensari 1. Understanding geometry is crucial for elementary school students as it forms the basis for logical and spatial thinking. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest setup. The subjects consisted of 18 fifth-grade students who received instruction through the PjBL model with a focus on three dimensional shapes (cubes and cuboids). The research instruments included student worksheets, teaching modules, and validated pre-test and post-test questions, verified through content validity by an expert. Data analysis was conducted with the aid of SPSS version 25. Results from the paired sample t-test indicated a significant difference between pre-test and post test scores, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Additionally, the N-Gain calculation revealed an average score of 0.536, categorized as moderate improvement. These findings suggest that implementing the PjBL model can effectively enhance students’ understanding of geometric concepts. Students became more active, creative, and demonstrated contextual comprehension through direct involvement in constructing three-dimensional models. The study recommends that educators adopt the PjBL model as an alternative instructional approach, particularly for content requiring concrete understanding such as geometry. Future research is advised to include a control group for stronger and more comprehensive comparisons.
