Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis interactive PowerPoint untuk mengajarkan recount text kepada siswa kelas VIII SMP Sepuluh Nopember Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini dilator belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami recount text akibat pembelajaran yang masih konvensional, meskipun fasilitas teknologi sekolah sudah memadai. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Produk dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan guru dan siswa, kemudian divalidasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi, serta diujicobakan pada 20 siswa kelas VIII. Hasil validasi ahli media menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan sebesar 94,2% dengan kategori sangat baik, sedangkan hasil validasi ahli materi mencapai 100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Respon siswa terhadap media juga sangat baik dengan persentase 85,2%. Media ini dinilai efektif meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap recount text, menarik, interaktif, serta mudah digunakan baik secara daring maupun luring. Dengan demikian, media interactive PowerPoint ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif untuk materi recount text.

This study aims to develop an interactive PowerPoint as a learning medium for teaching recount text to eighth-grade students at SMP Sepuluh Nopember Sidoarjo. The study was motivated through the students’ low ability to comprehend recount text due to conventional teaching methods, despite the school’s sufficient technological facilities. That is a research and development (R&D) study employing the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The product was developed based on the need’s analysis of teachers and students, validated by media and material experts, and examined on 20 eighth-grade students. The validation result through the media expert confirmed a feasibility score of 94.2% (excellent category), while the material expert gave a rating of 100% (excellent category). The students’ response was also excellent, with a score of 85.2%. The media was considered effective in improving students’ understanding of recount text, engaging, interactive, and easy to use both online and offline. Therefore, this interactive PowerPoint is feasible to use as an alternative learning medium for teaching recount text.
