Abstract

Sebagian besar siswa kelas sepuluh MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin Sidoarjo mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis teks recount. Hal tersebut mendukung peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian ini. untuk mengidentifikasi kesulitan siswa dalam menulis teks recount, kesulitan siswa yang paling dominan dalam menulis teks recount dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan siswa dalam menulis teks recount. peneliti mengumpulkan data berupa teks recount siswa melalui observasi dokumen dan angket. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah observasi dokumen dan lembar angket. Dalam menganalisis data peneliti menggunakan Interactive Model oleh Huberman. Berdasarkan analisis data, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam isi (57%), organisasi (70%), kosa kata (96%), tata bahasa (45%) dan mekanik (49%). Selain itu, peneliti menemukan kesulitan siswa yang paling dominan dalam menulis teks recount adalah tata bahasa.Terakhir, peneliti menemukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan siswa dalam menulis teks recount adalah sebagian besar siswa kurang memahami struktur umum dan karakteristik bahasa. Kedua, pengetahuan untuk menulis kembali teks yang diagregasi. Ketiga, tidak terbiasa menggunakan bahasa Inggris dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Keempat, Kurangnya kemampuan berpikir abstrak dan faktor terakhir adalah rendahnya kemauan untuk belajar menulis bahasa Inggris.

Most of Tenth Grade Students of MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin Sidoarjo faced difficulties writing recount text. It supports the researcher in conducting this research. to identify students’ difficulties in writing recount text, the most dominant students’ difficulties in writing recount text, and the factors that influence the students difficulties in writing recount text. the researcher collected the data in the form of students’ recount text through documents observation and questionnaire. The research instrument used by the researcher are documents observation and questionnaire sheet. In analyze the data researcher applies Interactive Model by Huberman. Based on the data analysis, the researcher finds that students have
difficulties in content (57%), organization (70%), vocabulary (96%), grammar (45%) and mechanics (49%). In addition, the researcher finds the most dominant students’
difficulties in writing recount text is grammar. Lastly, The researcher finds the factors that influence students’ difficulties in writing recount text are most of the students lack understanding of general structure and language characteristics. Second, knowledge to write re aggregated text. Third, not accustomed to using English in everyday communication. Fourth, Lack of ability to think abstractly and the last factor is a low willingness to learn English writing.
