Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pemahaman membaca pada siswa kelas sepuluh MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin. Siswa telah diajarkan tentang teks naratif tetapi masih ada aspek pemahaman membaca yang belum dikuasai oleh siswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mendeskripsikan aspek-aspek pemahaman membaca dalam teks naratif dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks naratif. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sepuluh MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin. Ada 31 siswa sebagai sampel. Peneliti menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis data, peneliti menemukan bahwa persentase aspek pemahaman membaca siswa dalam mengidentifikasi gagasan utama 67.74%, ciri-ciri bahasa 70.96%, struktur generik 70.96%, referensi 74.19%, dan nilai moral 58.06%. Aspek pemahaman membaca yang dikuasai siswa adalah mengidentifikasi nilai moral dalam teks naratif. Sedangkan persentase faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks naratif pada latar belakang minat siswa 54,83%, latar belakang motivasi siswa 61,29%, latar belakang pengetahuan awal siswa 74,19%, teknik pengajaran 48,38%, dan lingkungan siswa 77,41%. Faktor yang paling dominan adalah lingkungan siswa.

The background of this research is the importance of reading comprehension in the tenth grade students of MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin. Students have been taught about narrative text but there are still aspects of reading comprehension that have not been mastered by the students. Therefore, the researcher want to describe the reading comprehension aspects in narrative text and identify the
factors that influence the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text. This research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research were the tenth grade students of MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin. There are 31 students as sample. The researcher used questionnaire and interview to collect the data. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found that the percentage of students’ reading comprehension aspects in identifying the main idea 67.74%, language features 70.96%, generic structure 70.96%, references 74.19%, and moral value 58.06%. Aspects of reading comprehension that mastered by the students is identifying
moral value in narrative text. While the percentage of the factors that influence the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text on the learner’s background of interest 54.83%, learner’s background of motivation 61.29%, learner’s
background of learner’s prior knowledge 74.19%, teaching technique 48.38%, and learners environment 77.41%. The most dominant factor is learners environment.
