PENERAPAN METODE SNOWBALL THROWING PADA MATERI BILANGAN CACAH MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS 2 MIS ISLAMIYAH KRAMAT JEGU

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan dan hasil dari penggunaan metode Snowball Throwing pada pembelajaran Matematika materi bilangan cacah di kelas 2 MIS Islamiyah Kramat Jegu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) yang melibatkan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode Snowball Throwing dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, wawancara, serta tes pretest dan posttest. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji-t, dan uji N-Gain Score dengan bantuan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Snowball Throwing efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Rata-rata nilai posttest siswa kelas eksperimen mencapai 80,00, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya 68,00. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000). Nilai rata-rata N-Gain Score sebesar 0,3642 atau 36,42% yang masuk dalam kategori sedang. Artinya, metode ini mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran Matematika meskipun belum sepenuhnya maksimal.

This study aims to determine the application and results of using the Snowball Throwing method in teaching mathematics on the topic of whole numbers in grade 2 at MIS Islamiyah Kramat Jegu. This is a quantitative study using a quasi experimental approach involving two classes, namely an experimental class using the Snowball Throwing method and a control class using the conventional method. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, interviews, and pre- and post-tests. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical tests, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain Score tests with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that the Snowball Throwing method is effective in improving students' learning outcomes. The average post-test score of the experimental class was 80.00, while the control class scored 68.00. The t-test results showed a significant difference between the two groups (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000). The average N-Gain Score was 0.3642 or 36.42%, which falls into the moderate category. This means that this method is able to improve students' understanding of mathematics, although not yet to the maximum extent.
