Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sikap demokratis guru IPAS terhadap pembentukan kecerdasan emosional siswa kelas 5 di MI AT Taqwa Kebonagung Sukodono. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya peran guru dalam menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang inklusif, partisipatif, dan mendukung perkembangan emosional siswa. Guru yang bersikap demokratis memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menyampaikan pendapat, menghargai keberagaman, dan mendorong keterlibatan aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket, observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas 5 yang berjumlah 167 siswa, dengan sampel sebanyak 50 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian divalidasi melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas, dan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji t dan korelasi pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara sikap demokratis guru IPAS dan kecerdasan emosional siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi p < 0,05. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat sikap demokratis guru, maka semakin baik pula perkembangan kecerdasan emosional siswa.

This study aims to determine the relationship between the democratic attitude of IPAS teachers and the development of emotional intelligence among fifth-grade students at MI AT Taqwa Kebonagung Sukodono. The background of this research is based on the importance of the teacher’s role in creating an inclusive, participatory, and emotionally supportive learning environment. Teachers who demonstrate a democratic attitude give students the opportunity to express their opinions, respect diversity, and encourage active engagement in the learning process. data This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observation, documentation, and interviews. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students totaling 167, with a sample of 50 students selected using random sampling. The research instruments were validated through validity and reliability tests, and the were analyzed using t-tests and Pearson correlation tests. The results showed a significant relationship between the democratic attitude of IPAS teachers and students' emotional intelligence, as indicated by a significance value of p < 0.05. It can be concluded that the more democratic the teacher's attitude, the better the development of students’ emotional intelligence.
