Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan speaking placement test bagi Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) English Club Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama (UNUSIDA) karena UKM English Club tidak memiliki speaking placement test untuk menentukan kemampuan anggotanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan dan model ADDIE (Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, and Evaluasi) sebagai desain penelitiannya. Tahap analisis yang dilakukan adalah wawancara dengan ketua English Club untuk mengetahui analisis kebutuhan dan karakteristik anggota UKM English Club UNUSIDA. Tahap desain yang dilakukan adalah mengadaptasi CEFR sebagai desain untuk membuat materi tes dan rubrik penilaian. Pada tahap pengembangan, peneliti mengembangkan speaking placement test dan melakukan validasi tes kepada ahli materi. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa speaking placement test mendapatkan skor 80%. Hal ini
menunjukkan bahwa produk tersebut sangat valid dan dapat digunakan untuk menguji anggota UKM English Club UNUSIDA. Peneliti menerapkan speaking placement test kepada anggota UKM English Club UNUSIDA. Pada tahap evaluasi, digunakan angket untuk mengetahui kelemahan speaking placement test.
Tes penempatan berbicara dikembangkan dalam bentuk wawancara yang terdiri dari 12 pertanyaan: 6 untuk tingkat dasar dan 6 untuk tingkat lanjutan.

This research aims to develop a speaking placement test for the English Club Student Activity Unit of Nahdlatul Ulama University of Sidoarjo (UNUSIDA) because the English Club does not have a speaking placement test to divide the members' abilities. This research uses development method and ADDIE ( Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation ) model as the research design. The analysis stage was an interview with the leader of the English Club to find out an analysis of the needs and characteristics of UNUSIDA English Club members. The design stage was adapting CEFR as a design to create test materials and assessment rubrics. At the development stage, the researcher developed the speaking placement test and validated the test with material experts. The product which is the speaking placement test, was scored 80%. It shows that it is very valid and can be applied to test UNUSIDA English Club members. The researcher implemented the speaking placement test for members of the UNUSIDA English Club. During the evaluation stage, a questionnaire was used to obtain weaknesses of the speaking placement test. The speaking placement test was developed in an interview form that consists of 12 questions: 6 for the basic level and 6 for the advanced level.
