Abstract

This research was motivated by students who were less active in participating in learning so that students did not stimulate their multiplication abilities in the mathematics learning process. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model on the multiplication abilities of class IV students at SDN Magersari Sidoarjo. The population in this study was all students at SDN Magersari Sidoarjo class IV, totaling 90 students. The data collection technique in this research used pretest and posttest. The data in this study consisted of 90 students who took 2 classes, namely class IV A as an experimental class with a total of 45 students and class
IV B as a control class with a total of 45 students. This research instrument uses a test sheet. The data analysis technique in this research uses prerequisite tests (normality test and homogeneity test) and hypothesis testing. The results of the research show that the influence of the Problem Based Learning learning model has an influence on students' multiplication abilities, because the results of the t test analysis (independent t-test) obtained significant results (sig.2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05, then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that there is an influence in the Problem Based Learning learning model for mathematics subjects on the multiplication abilities of class IV students at SDN Magersari Sidoarjo.
