A SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE IN BRUNO MARS “GRENADE” SONG LYRICS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bahasa kiasan yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu dan menganalisis makna bahasa kiasan yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu. Penelitian ini menggunakan lagu dari Bruno Mars yang berjudul Granat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. tahap penelitian ini meliputi reduksi, kondensasi tampilan data dan penarikan kesimpulan. teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 8 jenis gaya bahasa dengan 18 sampel lirik lagu yang mengandung gaya bahasa. meliputi gaya bahasa personifikasi, metafora, alegori, hiperbola, paradoks, epizekis, epistrop, dan simplot. dengan kemunculan bahasa 1 kali untuk majas metaforis, epifora dan epizeukis. dan 2 kali untuk personifikasi,alegori dan majas simplot. dan untuk majas paradoks 4 kali dan dengan kemunculan 5 datanya mengandung majas hiperbola. Kesimpulan dalam lagu “Grenade” ciptaan Bruno Mars menggunakan gaya bahasa yang terdapat dalam teori Tarigan dan memiliki makna tersendiri sebagai isi lagu.

This study aims to find the figurative language contained in the song lyrics and analyze the meaning of the figurative language contained in the song lyrics. This study uses a song from Bruno Mars entitled “Grenade”. This research is a
qualitative descriptive study. this research phase includes reduction, condensation of data display and drawing conclusions. data collection techniques using observation techniques. The results of this study found 8 types of language styles with 18 samples of song lyrics containing language styles. includes the style of personification, metaphor, allegory, hyperbole, paradox, epizeukis, epistrophe, and simplot. with the appearance of language once for metaphorical figures of speech, epistrophe and epizeukis. and twice for personification, allegory and simplot figure of speech. and for figure of speech paradox 4 times and with the occurrence of 5 the data contains figure of speech hyperbole. The conclusion in the “Grenade” song created by Bruno Mars uses the language style contained in Tarigan's theory and has its own meaning as the content of the song.
